- 1902 The first Ramblers were produced by the Thomas B Jeffery Company.
- 1914 The cars are named after the founder, Jeffery.
- 1917 Charles W Nash aquires Thomas B Jeffery Company.
- 1918 The cars take the name Nash.
- 1924 Nash buys Mitchell Motor Co.
- 1937 Jan 4 1937 Nash merges with Kelvinator forming Nash-Kelvinator.
- 1954 May 1 1954 Nash-Kelvinator merges with Hudson to form American Motors.
- 1957 Last model year for the Nash name.
- 1958 With the closing of Nash, marque once again becomes known as Rambler.
- 1966 Marque transitions to AMC.
- 1968 July 1968 Kelvinator sold to White.
- 1970 Feb 5 1970 AMC buys Kaiser-Jeep.
- 1971 March 1971 AM General created.
- 1987 August 1987 Chrysler Corporation buys AMC. AMC pasenger cars become Eagle division.
- 1988 Last AMC Eagle built. First Eagle make with the Renault-designed Premier model.
- 1998 Eagle begins shut down with only one model.
- 1999 Eagle closes its doors
