Build Record
From Mopedia
The build record was the first piece of factory paperwork generated. From the build record, a fender tag and broadcast sheet were made. The fender tag and broadcast sheet traveled down the assembly line with the car as it was being built. It's what the line workers read to determine what got bolted to the car, etc. The build record stayed with the sales paperwork and was shipped with the car to the dealer. When the car was purchased, the build record was sent to the zone office, entered into their computer and then sent back to Detroit. That's how the original warranty was activated. And that's why Chrysler still has build records, but not fender tags or broadcast sheets.
